Chronology of events

  1. February 2026

In February 2026, a deviation was identified at a MBAG plant through internal quality monitoring mechanisms. During this process, a seat belt bolt connection was found to be incorrectly tightened after being reworked. Following the detection of this deviation, MBAG immediately initiated investigations to determine the potential root cause of the issue. These investigations identified an irregularity within the plant rework process as the potential cause.

  2. April 2026

In March and April 2026, further analyses were conducted to assess the potential impacts of the identified deviation as well as to determine the potentially affected vehicles.

  3. May 22, 2026

On May 22, 2026, MBAG determined that a potential safety risk cannot be ruled out and decided to conduct a recall. MBAG can confirm there are no warranty claims, field or service reports, injuries or other information related to this defect in the USA.
