Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Wildwood, Salem and 2026 Stealth EVO travel trailers. The fireplace outlet may have the incorrect wiring.

Risk / consequence

The incorrect wiring may not make adequate contact, increasing the amperage and risk of a fire.

Remedy

Dealers will replace the wiring and outlet, free of charge. Owner notification letter are expected to be mailed July 8, 2026. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-503-831-5410.

Chronology of events

1. Apr 15, 2026

   4/15/2026 Forest River received a VOQ wth questions attached from NHTS's ODI group. In researching the questions asked it was discovered that Forest River had used the incorrect wire for an outlet used on certain models.

2. Apr 22, 2026

   4/22/2026 Reviewed warranty data and found 1 occurance in warranty. 1 Manufactured in January of 2024 the other unit from the VOQ was manufactured in May of 2024.

3. Apr 22, 2026

   4/22/2026 Located units on dealer lots that had not been retail sold. Service team began outreach to have dealers inspect units.

4. May 20, 2026

   5/20/2026 Recieved first results from dealer contacts. 2 dealer reported incorrectly wired outlets.

5. May 20, 2026

   5/20/2026 Plant started a deep dive review of all records relating to unit with a fireplace.

6. May 26, 2026

   5/26/2026 Plant located a reported deviation for this recept that was corrected on all product 2/21/2025. Plant was not aware of possible safety risk with this application.

7. May 29, 2026

   5/29/2026 Forest River's Corporate Committee voted to recall.

8. May 29, 2026

   5/29/2026 Recieved notification that a second plant buiding this same product had made the same error. When building their fist unit they had used a vehicle from the affected plant as a build guide for thier plant.

9. Jun 2, 2026

   6/2/2026 All of the affected models built in this plant up to 5/29/2026 have been added to the recall campaign.
