Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2025 AT Series, 2021-2025 AN Series Aerial Device, 2020-2026 TA Series Aerial Device, 2021 L Series Aerial Device, 2021 LR Series Aerial Device, 2023-2025 AM Series Aerial Device, and 2024-2025 AA Series Aerial Device vehicles. The ground level emergency stop (E-stop) may not stop hydraulic functions of the machine when the machine is in ePTO mode.

Risk / consequence

Hydraulic functions that do not immediately stop when the ground level E-stop is pressed, increase the risk of injury.

Remedy

Altec will inspect the units and test to verify the E-stop function. If the wiring is found to be incorrect, it will be updated, free of charge. Letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed on July 8, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3322.

Chronology of events

1. Apr 8, 2026

   On April 8, 2026, Altec identified that on a unit in production equipped with ePTO that the emergency stop at the ground controls did not function to disable all hydraulic functions when activated. Altec opened a root cause investigation to determine the cause of the issue. Altec identified that the unit had been wired incorrectly and that the schematics on the affected unit had the incorrect wiring harness design. On April 16, 2026, after determining the cause of the issue, a potential field action investigation was opened to determine whether risk to units in the field existed and to identify all units potentially affected by the harness design. On May 8, 2026, Altec determined that an issue existed in units in the field, and unit owners should be notified. No other warranty claims or field reports were identified. There have been no accidents, injuries or deaths related to this issue.
