Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2026 Prime Time Crusader recreational trailers. The waste water holding tank ventilation pipe may end inside the trailer, allowing sewer gas to enter the cabin.

Risk / consequence

Sewer gas inside the vehicle may increase the risk of injury.

Remedy

Dealers will install the vent pipe and roof cap, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 14, 2026. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-4995. Forest River's number for this recall is 49-2057. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning June 19, 2026.

Chronology of events

1. May 4, 2026

   May 4, 2026, Forest River’s office of Corporate Compliance was notified of a concern that was discovered at the factory when changing an interior panel that had been damaged in manufacturing. When they removed the panel, they found the vent pipe was not plumbed all the way through the roof of the vehicle. The same day, the manufacturing plant notified OCC of concern; OCC opened a research item.

2. May 11, 2026

   On May 11, 2026, Forest River’s Corporate Committee voted to recall.
