Defect
Storyteller Overland, LLC (Storyteller) is recalling certain 2023 Stealth, Classic, and Beast Mode vehicles equipped with AWD. Improperly routed coolant lines may overheat the engine, causing a loss of drive power.
Risk / consequence
A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will remove the secondary heat exchanger loop, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 24, 2026. Owners may contact Storyteller customer service at 1-888-999-7442.
Chronology of events
- Apr 15, 2026
On April 15th, 2026, Storyteller's customer service team received a call from a Mercedes dealer that an engine replacement may have been caused due to improperly routed coolant lines.
- Apr 16, 2026
On April 16th, 2026, the product safety committee met, and Storyteller's Director of service presented a work order for the engine replacement. The Committee began an investigation.

On April 24th, 2026, the Product Safety Committee voted to recall.
