Park Outside: Generator May Turn On Unexpectedly

REV Recreation Group (REV) is recalling certain 2026 Holiday Rambler Vacationer, Admiral, Fleetwood Flair, Fortis, and Bounder motorhomes. The furnace may create electrical signal that turns the generator on unexpectedly.

Risk / consequence

A generator that operates in an enclosed space, such as a garage, increases the risk of injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Remedy

Owners are advised to park outside until the repair has been performed. Dealers will install a relay harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2026. Owners may contact REV customer service at 1-800-322-8216. REV's number for this recall is 260422REV.

Chronology of events

1. Jan 21, 2026

   1/21/2026 - A motor home had an un-commanded shutdown of the 7000I generator. This was a new generator model applicable to REV RV products. REV RV Engineering reviewed the situation. This issue appeared to be isolated to a certain configuration of the multiplex (master control system), the 7000I generator, and electrical line noise from the RV furnace. A new harness to reduce electrical line noise was developed. 1/27 REV RV began installing a relay harness to prevent the un-commanded shut down of the 7000I generator. All of the initial 12 units built with the 7000I generator had the new harness installed. Units on stop ship were released. 3/5 REV RV received an internal report regarding a unit with un-commanded operation of a different product/model, unrelated to the previous stop ship population. 3/9 A stop ship was created to investigate un-commanded startup of the generator. 3/12 The multiplex manufacturer was again consulted to discuss the issue regarding electrical line noise to the generator start/stop switch. 3/16 Further conversations and testing occurred with Onan/Cummins. 3/17 An onsite review was conducted by the related system suppliers. 3/26 The issue was suspected to be random and isolated to only the RV furnace output signal and the 7000I generator. 4/9 Fleetwood/Onan tested a harness prototype. 4/14 REV Engineering discussed their findings internally and agreed that motor homes manufactured with the 7000I generator with the original revised relay harness should be considered for repair. The Fleetwood/Onan designed harness must be the remedy as it will not exhibit the un-commanded generator start/stop. The new Fleetwood/Onan designed harness will be installed inside the generator housing to further reduce potential electrical line noise. 4/17 Sent to REV Corporate Compliance for review and consideration. 4/21 Received approval from REV Corporate Compliance to file a part 573 safety recall report.
