Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Lineage motorhomes. The entry door position switch may not make adequate contact to read that the door is closed, which allows the steps to deploy unexpectedly.

Risk / consequence

Steps extending while in transit increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will reposition the switch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is M910058.

Chronology of events

1. Dec 1, 2025

   12/1/2025 - Grand Design identifies 6 warranty claims mentioning steps deploying at unexpected times. An investigation is opened.

2. Jan 30, 2026

   1/30/2026 - While concern is being investigated a potential fix is identified and tested. This fix is distributed to multiple individuals

3. Feb 23, 2026

   2/23/2026 - Technical team meets to discuss results of testing. Results of testing are inconclusive, but claims have continued, decision is made to escalate to committee.

4. Feb 27, 2026

   2/27/2026 - Intermediate decision making committee determines not enough information is present about the condition to make a decision about escalation. They refer back to technical committee for further evaluation.

5. Mar 5, 2026

   3/5/2026 - Technical committee meets to discuss root cause analysis and potential hazards. After results of additional testing the decision is made to escalate to intermediate committee again.

6. Mar 11, 2026

   3/11/2026 - Technical committee meets to review additional testing needed

7. Mar 12, 2026

   3/12/2026 - Intermediate decision making committee meets and determines enough information is present to elevate to decision making committee.

8. Mar 16, 2026

   3/16/2026 - Product Safety Review Committee meets. Decision is made to recall.
