Missing Gross Axle Weight Rating on Label

Winnebago Towable (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2026 Access travel trailers. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) may not be listed on the certification label. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

Risk / consequence

Missing weight information may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers or owners will replace the label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 13, 2026. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-574-825-5280 Ext. 5220. Winnebago's number for this recall is 44448204.

Chronology of events

1. Jan 22, 2026

   In early December Product Safety was notified by a dealer partner regarding a non- compliance; the Information Placard was missing the GAWR. Subsequently, Product Safety opened an investigation. On January 22nd, 2026, the Product Safety Committee met to review the investigation and determined a non-compliance concern and initiated the recall process. Winnebago is aware of 8 claims related to this non-compliance. There are no known accidents or injuries related to this issue.
