Defect

Brinkley RV (Brinkley) is recalling certain 2026 Model Z trailers. The shore power inlet lugs may have been improperly tightened.

Risk / consequence

The wires may loosen and overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and properly tighten the lugs as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 2, 2026. Owners may contact Brinkley's customer service at 1-574-501-4280. Brinkley's number for this recall is REC-2601.

Chronology of events

  1. Jan 21, 2026

    An internal audit performed on 1/21/26 discovered a loose conductor on a shore inlet. Units were immediately put on hold, and additional inspections were performed. A Safety Committee meeting was held on 1/22/26 where the inspection data was reviewed. It was determined that additional testing should be performed to determine potential risk. On 1/23/26, another Safety Committee meeting was held, where testing data was reviewed. The Safety Committee voted unanimously to issue a voluntary Recall of the potentially affected units. As the Recall population extends back to the beginning of usage of the subject component, no prior field issues have been recorded.
