Defect
Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2018-2019, 2024-2026 G5E transit buses. The power steering pump may fail to start when the ignition is turned on or may shutdown unexpectedly.
Risk / consequence
A loss of power steering assist can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and update the software as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 18, 2026. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 25-119-PUC.
Chronology of events
- Dec 17, 2025
December 17, 2025 to recall the electric vehicles equipped with the EHPS-30AOEPS31 power steering pump from Shanghai OE, so their firmware may be updated. Micro Bird is not aware of any incidents regarding this defect
