Defect
Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Champion trailers. The cylinder pin in the slide liftgate may be insufficiently lubricated, which can cause the pin to seize, resulting in lift gate failure.
Risk / consequence
A lift gate that fails during operation increases the risk of injury.
Remedy
Great Dane will work with Hiab to replace the lift gate cylinder pins, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2026. Owners may contact Great Dane's customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

December 03, 2025 Great Dane was notified by NHTSA of Haib USA Inc. recall 25E025, and that some of our trailers may have had recalled lift gates installed on them.

December 03, 2025 Great Dane reviewed the recall information and determined that while no recalled components were shipped to Great Dane directly, some quantity were shipped to to a third party installer (JBH Inc.) to be installed on new Great Dane trailers.
