Wheelchair Restraint Retractor May Not Lock

Micro Bird USA, LLC (Micro Bird USA) is recalling certain 2026 G5 transit buses equipped with certain QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Risk / consequence

An unlocked wheelchair can move during transit or during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 8, 2025. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 25-117-QVC.

Chronology of events

1. Sep 10, 2025

   September 10, 2025, may contain a defective retractor. Internal reviews of our recent orders and stock quickly determined that Micro Bird had been provided with potentially defective parts. On Monday, October 27, 2025, a meeting was called to advise strategic Micro Bird personnel that a recall notification was received from its provider and that a recall campaign would be launched. Micro Bird is not aware of any other claim or complaints or any incidents regarding this defect.
