Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2026 New VN trucks. The roof center marker lights may fail to illuminate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk / consequence

Marker lights that fail to illuminate can reduce visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will replace the center roof marker light, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 19, 2026. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2509. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 10, 2025.

   October 20, 2025, Product Safety Evaluation Committee review #2 recommends escalation to Product Safety Committee.

4. Oct 27, 2025

   October 27, 2025, Product Safety Committee determines that a non-compliance exists and decides to initiate a recall. There have been 237 claims received in the calendar year 2025 related to this issue received as follows: January-1, February-1, March-7, April-15, May-49, June-52, July-57, August-27, September-17, October-11 There have been no field reports, accidents or injuries related to this issue.
