Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2025 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 vehicles. The front short-range radar sensor printed circuit board may fail and result in a loss of automatic emergency braking and other driver assistance features.

Risk / consequence

An automatic emergency braking system that does not function as intended can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will replace the short-range sensor, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 21, 2025. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267. DVUSA's number for this recall is VS3RADARS. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 24, 2025.

Chronology of events

1. May 2025

   At the end of May 2025, MBAG launched initial investigations based on an individual report from one production plant indicating a malfunction of the front radar sensor. In June 2025, a detailed analysis of the root cause together with the supplier was performed. This analysis identified a deviation in the production process at the supplier for a certain batch of parts. In July, all possibly affected parts were located and a plant campaign was initiated to rework all vehicles still accessible by MBAG. Subsequently in August 2025, internal tests, including driving tests, were performed to determine the possible consequences of the deviation on the vehicles in the field. In September 2025 the potentially affected population in the field was identified based on reports from the plant actions. On October 10, 2025, MBAG determined that a potential safety risk cannot be ruled out and decided to conduct a recall.
