Chronology of events
- May 2025
In May 2025, BRP received 3 cases of Drive Belt Lower Idler Support failures including one loss of propulsion. BRP started its analysis to understand the root causes of the failure. It was found that after a failure of the support in physical testing a decision was made to change the part material from the start of production. However, the drawing revision failed to reflect this change and maintained the initial material.
- June 2025
In June 2025, BRP received 2 additional cases. With all the information collected and analyzed, BRP decided on June 27, 2025, that it had enough information to report and wants to proceed with a safety recall on the identified population of vehicles. BRP has 5 reported failure cases worldwide (4 in the US) as of June 27, 2025 but no report of accident nor injury.
