Defect
Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Chrysler Pacifica, 2022-2025 Voyager, and 2024-2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid vehicles. The occupant restraint tie-down puck fasteners may have been improperly tightened.
Risk / consequence
A restraint tie-down puck with loose fasteners may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and tighten the fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed mailed July 7, 2025. Owners may contact Braun customer service at 1-800-488-0359.
Chronology of events
On May 28th, we received a report from a customer indicating that an occupant restraint puck in one of their units was loose. This prompted an immediate investigation into our internal processes and inventory. The Quality Process Team discovered that improperly calibrated torque tools were used by the installers of the puck. Consequently, all inventory on the lot was pulled, inspected, and corrected by removing the bolts, applying blue thread locker, and using a properly calibrated torque wrench to reinstall the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque of 40 ft-lbs. All on-site inventory was repaired, and an internal process was established on May 29th to ensure that torque tools remain within specification going forward. Starting May 30th, we dispatched representatives from our service and quality teams to dealer network lots to inspect previously built inventory. Through the inspection of unsold units, it was determined on June 3rd that the window of effect was from January 6, 2025 through May 29, 2025
