Risk / consequence

Wiring without circuit protection may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and repair the wiring and install a 30 AMP fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 9, 2025. Owners may call ATC customer service at 1-877-441-2440 ext. 342.

Chronology of events

  1. Apr 28, 2025

4/28/25 ATC inspected and repaired the unit. They found that there was no circuit over-current protection at the power wire running from the battery to the stabilizer jacks. They added a 12v 30amp fuse to the power wire between the battery and the stabilizer jacks. An investigation was started on

  2. Apr 29, 2025

4/29/25 and it was found that in March a wiring change was made after Lippert made a recommendation to change our wiring to meet their specifications. ATC did not realize circuit over-current protection was needed on the power wire from the battery to the stabilizer jacks when implementing this change. Once this was found on 4/29/25 production immediately started adding the 12v 30amp fuse to the wire on any PLA550 bumper pull unit with stabilizer jacks. On 5/6/25 a meeting was held to determine if a recall needed to be initiated for safety and it was determined it was.
