Defect
Storyteller Overland, LLC (Storyteller Overland) is recalling certain 2023-2024 GXV HILT vehicles. The metal frames within the housing portion of the vehicle may be improperly grounded.
Risk / consequence
An improperly grounded metal frame can cause electric shock, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Dealers will install additional bonding wires to ensure adequate grounding, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 12, 2025. Owners may contact Storyteller Overland customer service at 1-888-999-7442.
Chronology of events
- Dec 19, 2024
Through an internal engineering audit, it was discovered that the metal frames within the housing portion of the vehicle may not be properly grounded. The electrical engineer who discovered the issue presented to Storyteller's Safety Committee on December 19, 2024, and the Safety Committee voted to recall.
