Chronology of events
- Aug 14, 2024
8/14/24: Airstream Engineering was notified by production that a wire had been hit in a unit causing it to heat up. However, it was discovered that the power hub controlling this output didn’t fault out after a wire had overheated.
- Aug 15, 2024
8/15/24: Airstream reached out to vendor stating the production fault scenario and verified specifications. At this time, the vendor stated they must have had some confusion internally on the max fuse setting versus constant amp draw load. They went back through their firmware and confirmed that they had the wrong max fuse rating set for the E-fusing. They agreed to investigate those parameters and get an update back to Airstream.
- Aug 17, 2024
8/17/24: Supplier responded back stating that it would just be a code change adjusting those fuse values to match specifications.
- Aug 22, 2024
8/22/24: Supplier responded back with their internal specification adjustments and plan for updated firmware release.
- Aug 29, 2024
8/29/24: The vendor sent a new firmware release for the power hubs with a fix for the previous E-fuse issue. This firmware release was immediately tested on the lab bench with a load tester. Airstream went through all E-fuse testing and full regression testing confirming that the new hub firmware releases fixed the issue.
