Farber Specialty Vehicles (Farber) is recalling one 2021 Freightliner XC, 340HP vehicle. An additional resistor was incorrectly installed on the printed circuit board, which can disrupt CAN network communication and cause vehicle lighting to fail.

Risk / consequence

Inoperative vehicle lighting can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will replace the units, free of charge. The one effected vehicle was remedied in July 2022. Owners may contact Farber's customer service at 1-800-331-3188.

Chronology of events

1. May 13, 2022

   On or About May 13, 2022, Farber Specialty Vehicles was contacted by Weldon Division of Akron Brass that V- mux Hercules HC Node 1.5 had an issue with the termination resistor on the circuit board. It was identified that six Nodes would be recalled, and of the six Nodes, Farber had five in inventory, and one unit was in the field in possession of an owner. Working with Weldon, Faber secured all of the involved products, and the estimated date for the completion of all the repairs was July 11, 2022.
